The over-zealous Inspector Gadget (French Stewart) trails prison escapee the infamous Dr. Claw (Tony Martin). Due to his many glitches, Mayor Wilson (Sigrid Thornton) decides to build a female version of the inspector which he calls G2 (Elaine Hendrix). Gadget is thrown off the case, but that doesn't stop him and his niece Penny (Caitlin Wachs) from learning a few things about Claw's plans. They stakeout G2's stakeout and while Gadget can't go within 100 yards of the stakeout, that doesn't stop Penny. Unfortunately Penny is captures and Claw is free to carry out his plans to steel a ruby. Gadget manages to team up with G2. With both of them on the case, the world should be safe.
