The story revolves around John Brown (Mathew Broderick) a normal security guard whose ultimate desire is to become a super cop. He works for Brenda Bradford (Joely Fisher) a robotic surgeon. Once while trying to catch a cyber thief John gets hurt badly, Brenda operates him and saves him but in the process she converts him into a robot. This process not only saves John’s life but fulfills all his desire of becoming a cop and is known as inspector gadget. In the course of the events John and Brenda falls in love with each other. They both now unite to fight their enemy Claw (Rupert Everett) who is after Brenda’s technological secrets and is also determined to kill inspector gadget.
