Pride and Prejudice is based on the novel written by Jane Austen. It is the story of a beautiful and sensible girl, Elizabeth Bennett (Jennifer Ehle) and her three sisters. Elizabeth’s mother is anxious to marry all the four girls. At a local ball, Elizabeth encounters a rich man, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy (Colin Firth), and she hates him from the very first instant because she finds him arrogant and rude. However the turn of events is such that she finally starts to love him. All her other sisters are seeing someone or the other. Elizabeth’s elder sister falls in love with Mr. Darcy’s best friend, Mr. Charles Bingley (Crispin Bonham-Carter) and the younger sister is attracted to Mr. Darcy’s old enemy, Mr. George Wickham (Adrian Lukis). Amidst all these love stories, Elizabeth discovers her own love for Mr. Darcy and also tries to resolve the only impediment between her love and Mr. Darcy, which was Mr. Darcy’s old enmity with Mr. Wickham.
