Roy 'Tin Cup' McAvoy (Kevin Costner) is a failed pro-golfer who now lives in a trailer, from which he runs a poor driving range. Unexpectedly, he gets a charming new female student, Dr. Molly Griswold (Renne Russo). She turns out to be the girlfriend of PGA star David Simms, a longtime enemy and old College golf partner of Roy's. As he falls for Molly, he tries his hand at professional golf once more, and fights to win her affection.
