Joe Gavilan (Harrison Ford) and his new partner K. C. Calden (Josh Hartnett), are detectives on the beat in Tinseltown. Neither one of them really wants to be a cop, Gavilan moonlights as a real estate broker hoping to land a big deal, and Calden is an aspiring actor moonlighting as a yoga instructor. When the two are assigned to a big case they must work out whether they want to solve the case or make the big deal or land the big audition. Will the cop in them come out or will it be the real estate broker and the aspiring actor, as they try to solve the murder of an up and coming young rap artist.
