When Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) finds himself hunting down the killer of his boss when he witnesses the murder and gives his word to the dying Inspector that he will track down his killer. After locating the killer's car at an amusement park in Beverly Hills, and while looking around, he rescues two children from a ride that is stuck. The people in the park take him to see the head of security, who Axel recognizes as the killer he seeks. More investigating reveals that DeWald (Timothy Carhart), the head of security, is running a counterfitting ring on the premises using the amusement park as a front. Axel's temporary partner doesn't believe it as he is a personal friend of DeWald's. As Axel gets too close to finding the truth, he is accused of killing the amusement park's owner. can Axel clear his name and prove he is right about DeWald?
