In a future where robots and ordinary humans live side-by-side, a family adopts a little android boy named David (Haley Joel Osment), only to turn him away, alone and afraid. Searching to regain his mother’s love, David teams up with another unwanted android, Gigolo Joe (Jude Law); convinced that the Blue Fairy from the story of “Pinocchio” is out there and will grant David his place among humanity, they journey to Manhattan to find the mystical fairy. Upon learning the truth about his existence, David does not receive quite the magic spell he expected, but instead is forced to make a choice that reveals the most human side of him.
