Molly Gunn (Brittany Murphy) is a spoiled daughter of a rock star. When her father passes away and her inheritance is stolen by her manager, she is forced to do something that she has never before done in her life... get a job. The only job she was able to get is to become the nanny to Ray Schleine (Dakota Fanning), who is a spoiled little rich kid. She has gone through a number of nannies already because none of them could stand her difficult attitude. She feels extremely distant from her mom, who seems to value her job more than spending time with her eight year old daughter. Molly and Ray's relationship comes to a rocky start, but when they realize how alike they both are, feeling extrememly lonely and alone, they find solace in each other and becomes true friends.
