Another retelling of the story of real-life sheriff of Mcnairy County Tennesee, Buford Pusser. The story setting this time around is changed to Kitsap County, Washington and the main character's name changed to Chris Vaughan (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson). When he returns from a stint in the military to his old hometown on the Kitsap peninsula in Washington state young Chris Vaughan finds a town that is much changed from the place he left behind. The old lumber mill that provided most of the towns jobs is closed down and a flashy new casino has been opened by Jay Hamilton (Neal McDonough) who is the son of the former owner of the lumber mill. Not only has Hamilton shut down the mill, but he has managed to corrupt the town. Vaugh and his friend Ray Templeton (Johnny Knoxville) go on a mission to reclaim the town after Vaughan runs for sheriff and wins.
