The movie "First Night" features Richard Gere as Sir Lancelot in a classic re-telling of the story of King Arthur and his Round Table of Knights, with a special emphasis on the possible love affair between Arthur's queen Gwenovere and Arthur's best knight, Lancelot. Arthur entrusts his best friend to bring his bride to the court from her father's house, but he does not forsee that a romance may develop between the two. Lancelot must decide whether his love for the Queen is worth the damage it may do to both his brotherly relationship with Arthur and the nation of England as a whole. Plus, the wizard Merlin is always there with a watchful eye, looking to interfere! Eventually, Arthur is tempted to have an affair of his own, and the son spawned from that union may be the individual to bring ruin upon his entire nation. Soon, King Arthur is fighting not just for his Queen and his family, but for the entire future of his kingdom, and his best friend Lancelot may not be able to fight beside him.
