A remake of the popular 1966 film starring Michael Caine, the film follows Alfie (Jude Law), a modern day British lothario working as a limo driver in New York City. Client after female client falls for Alfie's charms. While Alfie sets women's heart aflutter, his heart seems to be impenetrable. He plays with the affections of everyone from a rich socialite to an adoring single mother. But his playing ways begin to take a toll when Alfie woos the ex of his best friend and business partner, Marlon (Omar Epps). After breaking the "guy code," Alfie begins to rethink the path his life is taking and whether or not being a one-woman man is the way for him to go.
