Max (Jamie Foxx), an L.A. cab driver working the night shift, stumbles into a nightmare when he picks up Vince (Tom Cruise), a well-dressed out-of-town fare who turns out to be much more than Max bargains for. What begins as an innocent real-estate closing stop turns into a cold-blooded murder that envelops Max in Vince's plot to eliminate five targets by sunrise. As the night progresses, the fortunes (and lives) of both men become intertwined and lead them down unexpected avenues.
