Kylie Hunter (Mary-Kate Olsen) and Taylor Hunter (Ashley Olsen) are celebrating their 16th birthday. As they are now licensed to drive, they plan on going to Salt Lake City, Utah for the 2002 Winter Olympics together with their friends. Stopping at a local restaurant on their way to Salt Lake City, their car gets stolen. But this is not all, they board the wrong plane to San Diego. They finally make it to Salt Lake City, but not to the Olympics. Having nothing to loose, they decide to create their own fun to celebrate their 16th birthday. Will they have a great birthday party after all this trouble?
