Steven Spielberg directs this adaptation of the popular H.G. Wells story. The film focuses on Ray Ferrier (Tom Cruise), a dead-beat dad from New Jersey. Chaos erupts after his two children arrive for the weekend; massive storms bring to life alien machines long hidden under the ground for one purpose: to kill Earth’s human inhabitants. In the face of the horrors and dangers that have been unleashed, Ray struggles to protect his family and re-unite his children with their mother.
