A sequel to the original 1967 "The Jungle Book", Mowgli (voiced by Haley Joel Osment) now lives in a village near the jungle with an adopted family. Not feeling quite at home, he yearns for the fun and adventures of jungle life. The villagers believe that the jungle is unsafe, so he is forbidden to visit. One day he decides to run away from home to reunite with he old friends Baloo the Bear (voiced by John Goodman) and Bagheera the Panther (voiced by Bob Joles). Mowgli is followed by his neighbor Shanti (voiced by Mae Whitman), and together they find their old friends. Everything seems to be as it once was. Overjoyed to be reunited, the group relishes in songs as classic as the originals. Everything is perfect until Mowgli realizes that Shere Khan the Tiger (voiced by Tony Jay) seeks revenge. The group of friends, accompanied by new faces, must come together to fight Shere Khan.
