Based on the classic 'Prince and the Pauper' Garfield the cat returns (along with Odie, Jon & Liz). Jon has decided to finally propose to Liz which spurs Garfield to stowaway in Jon's baggage as he chases Liz across the Atlantic. Once in England, Garfield is mistaken for a royal cat who's just been left an estate by his animal loving owner and promptly takes over the English manor (and barnyard) winning over his Doppelganger's loyal subjects with... what else? Lasagna. Billy Connolly shines as he plays our villain to perfection in a manner reminescent of John Cleese. He plans to off the 'Prince', inherit the estate and replace it with condo's and as for the current animal occupants? They'll be sold off or 'served up'. With enormous potential to be formulaic this manages to present a fresh twist on the old classic and Bill Murray, as the voice of Garfield, adds his special 'edge' to our feline friend's usual wit and sarcasm.
