Amnesiac Samantha Caine (Geena Davis) believes she has finally made a life for herself. She's married, she has a beautiful daughter, and she's leading the perfect suburban life. However, after a car accident and several other small incidents begin to bring back more and more vague memories of her past, she hires a detective, Mitch Henessey (Samuel L. Jackson) to discover the full details of her life prior to her amnesia. This sends the two of them down a long, dangerous road, as several people who were involved in her past, nowhere near as idyllic life begin to come to the surface along with Samantha's memories. They will stop the full revelation of her memories at any cost, and only Samantha's forgotten skills, recalled one at a time, can possibly keep them all safe.
