For those who cherish the story of Anne Shirley (Megan Follows), it continues in this sequel directed by Stefan Scaini. The story returns with Anne (Megan Follows) growing into an accomplished woman. The movie follows her beginning attempts at becoming published writer. Her success provides her with a host of feelings. Through Anne, the viewer is taken on a journey of experiences, emotions, and adventure. Anne finds, joy, sadness, sorrow, and exploration in her journey. She and her beloved Gil (Jonathon Crombie) travel to New York to both pursue their dreams. Her love of writing and his love of medicine are mingled together as each one tries to fulfill their dreams. In the setting, the time is revealed with uneasiness in the world. Gilbert enlists in the Great War of Europe taking his medical service to the front lines. This causes the two to be separated. Anne (Megan Follows) travels after Gilbert (Jonathon Crombie) to Europe in hopes of finding and reuniting with him, despite the grim circumstances. New characters are introduced as old ones are returned. Whatever path Anne takes and what sorrow she finds along the way, always leads her back to Avonlea. Her passion for her Avonlea, the beautiful place of her beginnings is carried throughout the story. Anne reunites with her childhood friend Diana Barry (Schuyler Grant), now married and raising a family of her own. Their love for each and friendship are timeless. Through this story, Anne and the rest of the cast thread together to create a memorable addition to the original story, Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea.
