Dudley Do-Right (Brendan Fraser) is a Canadian Mountie who lives in Semi-Happy Valley where he protects the villagers from villains like Snidely Whiplash (Alfred Molina). At first it would seem that Snidely has changed his ways as he goes about the village trying to purchase land and businesses. Dudley's love interest, Nell Fenwick (Sarah Jessica Parker), also returns to the village. Dudley seems clueless in how underhanded Snidely is and how much Nell loves him if he would only pay more attention to her. When Snidely can't succeed in getting the land, he spreads rumors of vampires and the villagers flee. Then he places gold nuggets in the river to create a gold rush and sell the property to unsuspecting tourists who flood the town. Dudley must depend on the Chief (Alex Rocco), head of the local Kumquat Tribe, to help him restore the village to order.
