An incisive and poignant look at the rise and fall of Jim Morrison and the legendary acid rock band of the late 1960's, The Doors. Jim Morrison (Val Kilmer) is shown in this biopic as he rises from a introverted film student, to joining a small club band in Southern California. The Doors then rise to become one of the great forces in American rock, and the toll it takes on both the band itself and Jim Morrison is both captivating and disturbing to watch. Morrison's descent into sex, drugs and rock and roll is brilliantly captured, and the magnificent concert footage faithfully recreates the era, making this film a must-see.
