This movie is based on a true story in 1981 southern Virginia. Under federal mandate, schools that were once segregated must integrate. T. C. Williams High School is a new racially blended school, but the animosity between the white and black students is palpable. Forcing the students to attend school with one another doesn't make them friends, nor does it stop the racism or the hate crimes that plague the United States at this time in history. The Titans are the school's football team, but can they ever work together when the team is split into black versus white? Under their black coach and their white assistant coach, the Titans learn to look past their respective skin colors and work together, showing T. C. Williams High School and the rest of the nation the true meaning of integration.
