Much to his surprise, Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) finds out his strict Canadian boss, Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is using him to keep from getting deported. Tate comes up with a crazy plan on the spot and tells people they are getting married, when their true relationship status is anything but. The new couple gets to know each other very quickly, and in an unconventional way. As they visit each other’s family and interact they put up a hilarious front that they are in love and soon to be getting married.
